Girls Program
The Granby Youth Lacrosse program both boys and girls lacrosse across the Granby, East Granby, Hartland, and Bloomfield communities. We foster skill development, fun, and love of the game.
GYL follows the USA Lacrosse development model and age groupings.
Ages
Serving Kindergarten through 8th Grade, team groupings are:
Lightning: K*-2nd Grade
Bantam: 3-4th Grade
Junior: 5th-6th Grade
Senior: 7th-8th Grade
We also follow USA Lacrosse age guidelines where appropriate.
*Kindergarten teams may be created or practice-only depending on interest and availability.
When
Registration begins in December and finalizes in February.
Indoor practice starts in March, moving outdoors in April with the season running through the first week in June.

Practices and home games are held in Granby.

Practices
Younger teams tend to practice at least once weekly, while Bantams and up practice twice a week.
Games
Teams typically play 10-12 games as part of the regular season plus 1-2 in season tournaments then the final CVYL tournament to cap the season, totaling between 12 and 20 games.
Jerseys
All new players are required to have a GYL uniform.
Returning players have the option to select replacement uniforms as needed.
Extra Costs
Players must be fully fitted with the proper gear as illustrated at the right and defined at USA Lacrosse.
